They are often confused. One solves a problem you already have; the other opens a door you cannot open yourself. Both are for Business and Executive members, and neither is included in membership.
Consultancy
Paid, project-based support for a defined problem - market entry, strategy, operational improvement, digital transformation, investment readiness or partnership development.
How it works
- Scope, deliverables, milestones and fees agreed in writing before work begins
- Delivered by SMBF or by a specialist partner under the SMBF relationship
- Priced per project and normally invoiced by bank transfer
What to be clear about
- Consultancy is not included in membership - membership makes you eligible to commission it
- Substantive advice begins only under a paid engagement
- Where a specialist partner delivers, we say so
Facilitated introductions
A purposeful connection to a specific client, investor, partner, supplier or institutional counterparty, against a requirement you have stated.
How it works
- You describe the connection sought, the outcome and your readiness to act
- We qualify the request, check conflicts and pre-existing relationships
- Both parties consent before any introduction is made
What to be clear about
- An introduction is never promised, and never guaranteed to be accepted
- Quarterly B2B matchmaking is a lighter member benefit - it is not active facilitation
- Any success fee, commission or facilitation fee is explained before the introduction, never after
